%ARTICLETITLE2%

Knowing your credit score is important if you are thinking about buying a house or even a car.  Your credit score will dramatically effect the interest rate you will be able to obtain on loans and the lower your interest rate is, the total amount you will pay over the course of your loan will be much less.  So if you already know your credit score is low, credit repair help is just around the bend.

If you already have good credit, it is important to maintain it.  Check your credit report every 6 months to one year.  Verify that everything appears as it should.  If something appears on your credit report that is inaccurate, dispute it.  Often times this is an easy process that can be done online.  There are multiple credit reporting companies and they each might compute your score a little differently as the information about you available to them might not be the same.  Check your report with multiple agencies for a complete result.

Deciphering Your Credit Score

750 - 850: This is considered excellent credit.  You will have no trouble getting the best interest rates available.
600 - 700:  While this is considered good credit, it is still important that you work to improve your score.
Below 600: Most lenders will provide you with loans and lines of credit strapped with the highest interest rates.  With a score under 600 it becomes essential to work toward getting credit repair help.

Credit repair help comes in many forms.  One way to avoid damaging your credit score any further is simply to avoid having other people check your credit report.  If you are looking at renting an apartment, keep in mind that they will check your credit report.  If you apply for a new credit card, they will also check your credit report.  The more places checking your credit report at the same time, the lower your score will fall.  While this is only a temporary blip, when trying to get credit repair help you want to avoid this type of activity.

Good Credit does take time to build.  If you are thinking about tearing up a few of those credit cards, get rid of the newer ones.  It’s important to keep credit cards that you have had the longest as it is helping to establish your credit history.  Always avoid maxing out credit cards as this will adversely affect your credit score.

Credit repair help can be as simple as paying your bills on time.  It is extremely important that you never pay bills after their due dates.  Your credit report can reflect these failures for the next seven years and prevent you from obtaining the best interest rates.

How important is good credit when it comes to getting a job?

If you had asked that question twenty years ago you probably would have gotten laughed at. Today, more and more companies are using credit checks as a standard part of the new employee hiring process. A prospective employer cannot refuse an application because the applicant suffered a bankruptcy; however there are other things such as foreclosures and collection actions that might be used against you. While the background check still reigns first and foremost in the hiring process, the credit check is gaining ground in popularity.
